Reading Specialist
Full Time or Part Time Professional

We are looking for an energetic, positive individual to join the Children’s Performance Institute learning and development center. We strive to provide a gold care program and instruct children between the ages of 5 and 24, to read and comprehend at their highest ability. Experience with literacy in the content areas and reading curriculum are desired. This position will join a Literacy Team of reading specialists
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and/or small group instruction, in-person or online, implementing specific lesson plans under the direction of Learning Center leadership.
- Facilitate the use of an evidence based base curriculum (Science of Reading) provided for Children’s Performance Institute students.
- Interact positively and professionally with students and parents to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
- Manage client records electronically using a computer.
- Provide Weekly updates to parents thru phone, e-mail, or in person.
- Contact clients after program to monitor progress and concerns after transitioning back to the school program.
- May occasional instruct teachers or students off site at school or other locations.
- Implement positive-reinforcement strategies that maximize learning, in a cheerful and authentic manner.
- Possess excellent reading, spelling, and comprehension skills.
- Possess basic computer skills and the ability to type notes about student performance while leading engaging sessions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required) – No prior teaching in schools required. Early Childhood education certificate, or actively pursuing a degree is acceptable.
- Flexibility with work schedule to meet productivity goals and deadlines
- Team player and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus
- Ability to work under pressure to prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines within a fast-paced and changing environment
- Strong teamwork ethic; positive, flexible attitude; ability to take complete ownership of responsibilities.
- The ability to work positively with students, parents, and peers is essential.
- Ability to interpret and use data to inform instruction
- Experience working with learning differences and/or Special Education
- Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Word, internet, and outlook mail.

Salary:
$40,000 -$52,000 (Full Time)
